What’s the role?

The Cloud Technical Lead will support all aspects of production cloud-based infrastructure, including application support, maintenance and deployment, and the ability to make informed decisions based on analysis and data.

Act as the bridge between high-level business strategy and hands-on engineering execution. While a Cloud Engineer focuses on building and scaling infrastructure, a Technical Lead owns the technical vision, drives architectural decisions, and guides the engineering team to successful delivery.

What will you do?

  • Support production applications and infrastructure on Amazon Web Services
  • Action customer requests in accordance with agreed service levels
  • Respond to service outages and issues in a timely fashion
  • Provide solutions to fix repetitive issues
  • Work closely with developing and engineering teams to deploy software
  • Maintain and update documentation for working processes

Who are you?

We don't believe in ticking boxes. Here are a few skills that we feel would make you successful in the role, but we’d still love to hear from you if you feel you’d be a great fit. Experience working in a Cloud Operations environment

  • Hands on experience with Ubuntu Linux-based system administration
  • Scripting and automation skills (e.g. Bash, Python, Groovy)
  • Experience working with monitoring tools, frameworks and processes (e.g. Nagios, StatusCake, Prometheus, CloudWatch)
  • Excellent problem-solver and communicator
  • A demonstrative, team-playing attitude
  • The appetite to learn and develop technical skills

It would also be a plus if you had:

  • Enterprise Automation: Lead the development of robust, reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Terraform or AWS CDK across multiple environments.
  • Security & Governance: Define enterprise-grade cloud security controls, guardrails, and compliance standards using AWS Organizations, SCPs, IAM policies, and AWS Config.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, conduct code reviews for infrastructure code, and bridge the gap between development and operations teams.
  • Understanding of Git version control & GitHub
  • A familiarization of agile process methodologies
  • Exposure working in a DevOps culture
  • Experience: 5+ to 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on production enterprise-scale AWS environments.

Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect/ Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional is strongly preferred.
